Day Dreaming!

I can't seem to stop dreaming about how I'm going to decorate the new house.  It's SO exciting!

I had so many things floating around in my head I just had to jump on Polyvore.com and "put down on paper" the look I've been dreaming up for the dining room.

I call it Vintage Industrial Farmhouse.

Of course, I could never afford the kinds of prices they have listed for each of these designer and name brand items, BUT...I hope to pull off something very similar on a small budget by shopping yard sales, thrift stores, etc.  The most important thing to remember when working with a small budget is to be patient!  The right item/deal will come along, you just have to be willing to wait and pull it all together over time.  If you want it all instantly then it's going to cost you an arm and a leg to make that happen.

I quite like my arms and legs (and my savings account), so I know this will take some time to all come together.  It's just fun to dream!  It's also nice to have a vision to work towards.

So what do you think?
Would you be brave enough to try and mix vintage, rustic, industrial, AND farmhouse styles?  Are you the patient collector type or the "gotta have it now" type?
I'd love to know what you think!

  1. It looks amazing! I'd love to have it all at once, but I have to be patient as well. Sometimes things work out better if you wait. You might find something you like even better!

  2. Sure, I think those styles would look great! I too, am looking forward to seeing all your decorating in your new home! The older I get, I am learning to be more patient and find that perfect "something" for a great price. I used to be gotta get now!

    Have a blessed week!

  5. Mixing styles has been a trend for a while now and I think you will pull it off nicely! I like certain rooms finished like the kitchen and keeping room. It bothers me if not finished because this is where company always gravitate to! Great ideas... Hugs!

I've really struggled with decorating our new house - it still feels so NEW and I can't stand thAt feeling. ~ Dori ~

  7. Well...I'm a bad news/good news person...I'm naturally a "gotta' have it now" person and will drive myself crazy hunting the "perfect" item....the good news is, I am old and lazy, and that saves me a BUNCH of money :^)
Your room plan is beautiful...I just wish you were closer, I could contribute a couple of corner cabinets!! As you can imagine, I especially love the red chairs:^)
    Blessings,
